To honor the profession upon which we depend, we have sponsored design competitions including the 1987 Design A Gazebo Contest and the 1993 Urban Outhouse Design Competition. Both competitions drew hundreds of entries from around the world and attracted a tremendous amount of publicity. Many prominent people in the design community served as judges for these competitions including Philip Johnson, Henry Myerberg, Karen Stein, Tucker Viemeister and Lella Vignelli.
