Butt Joint Tile

We are pleased to present a new slate tile concept for your consideration:  natural cleft face/gauged back tiles cut accurately enough to be butted together, with no grout joints.

We offer three slates and several in stock sizes (price list) and have priced them as inexpensively as we can:  starting at $6.00 per sq ft.

We hope this attractive new module will serve as an economical alternative to imitate stone tile products such as porcelain tile.

Butt joints significantly reduce the cost of installation, as grouting is a laborious process.  They also reduce the risk of setting materials discoloring the stone as grout bleed is often the cause of staining at the perimeter of the tiles.

Visually the absence of grout joints produces a monolithic floor/wall of subtle, natural texture.  Of course, the tiles can be set with 3/16″ joints if preferred.

Weston Quartzite

As a company with over 150 years experience quarrying and fabricating natural stones, we are in a good position to select the best stones from around the world.  We are particularly pleased to introduce Weston Quartzite, a durable stone with subtle, rich coloration. Weston Quartzite is an excellent choice for interior and exterior applications for all types of architectural projects.

We offer Weston Quartzite in a honed finish (as shown in picture) or a sandblasted finish.  Weston’s wood-like appearance and availability in long pieces inspired architects Bohlin Cywinski Jackson to specify it for The Ridge House.
